Transform your Mobile Phone into a High-Power Digital Loupe with Image Capture


The iCroScope™ is a magnetically-attached lens that allows a camera phone to serve as a digital magnifier or loupe. This arrangement has two primary benefits: several people can simultaneously view the magnified object, and a picture of the magnified object can be captured.

The iCroScope lens has an integral magnet that is attracted to a matching metal ring affixed to the phone with a peel-and-stick adhesive. The mounting ring is thin and will not interfere with most soft cases and it will fit within some hard cases as well. Alternatively, the ring can be mounted on the outside of a hard case around the camera aperture. The mounting ring can easily be modified to clear an adjacent flash LED if one is present. Two mounting rings are supplied.

The deluxe iCroScope model ISWM1 includes a second lens that screws onto the front of the magnifying lens to create a .67X wide-angle lens assembly for increasing the field-of-view of your camera. Also included are a lens cap for the assembled lenses and a magnetic holder with lanyard, as well as an extra attachment ring for use with a second mobile phone. Alternatively, the iCroScope can be used with a webcam, which allows the remote party in a videoconference to view small objects in detail, or it can be used for the creation of movies that include extreme close-up shots.
